Divorce Mediation
Divorce mediation offers an out of court way to separate, allowing you to create your own divorce agreement and parenting plan with the support of a neutral facilitator. This process allows for minimal to no attorney involvement, offers control over decision making and the pacing of the process, and minimizes the financial cost of the separation. It is also possible to have a mediator if one or both of you have attorneys. They can either serve as off site advisors or can be present in the room. As a mediator, my strength is serving as a neutral facilitator to develop parenting plans, both at the time of separation and for any revisions at any time in the future. For situations that involve many financial decisions, I often work with co-mediators from the legal profession. I am also able to serve as a mediator for the parenting aspect of the separation plan, while the financial details are addressed by attorneys.
Co-Parenting Mediation
Co-parenting mediation can be a valuable resource throughout your time parenting minor children. Often parents need to revisit components of a plan due to changes in circumstances and different developmental phases of their children. Sometimes the parameters of an agreed upon parenting plan are unclear and it is helpful to meet to clarify them. At times communication can become strained and it is beneficial to have a neutral facilitator to assist. Co-parenting mediation can also be beneficial for parents who were never married and may not have a formal parenting agreement.
